Tennis Programs
Each Millennium Sports Club has 9 - 14 hard courts, all of which are lighted for evening play. There is an active tennis program in all of our clubs that include lessons and clinics for juniors and adults, round robins, summer camps and tournament play. The tennis department prides itself in meeting your individual needs. Lessons are available 7 days a week and can be either private or group. Whether you need a drill class, a team work-out, or a “tennis-cardio” session, we will have a tennis program for you. Events run year around and cover both the serious player and the social player. The SATA Grand Prix tournament is a competitive event, while the free Saturday mixers and luncheons are popular with the social players. League play is offered both in-house and traveling (SATA and USTA). Drop-in days and free evaluations with the pros make it easy to get a tennis game with a variety of similar players.
Junior Tennis
The tennis program for children offers lessons for kids as young as age 4. Junior groups meet one day a week. Kids aged 8-14 have an opportunity to join our recreation SportsClub tennis team, and older juniors can play on our USTA teams. We also offer a Grand Prix program, which includes monthly tournaments and junior ladder competition. This program is available in most Millennium SportsClub locations.
Jr. Summer Tennis Camps
Camps will be held in early morning or late afternoon hours. Camps for different age groups and ability levels will be offered multiple times during the summer. Please see your Clubs Tennis Director for schedules and details on events.
Free Tennis Clinics
If you are an adult beginner or an adult thinking of returning to tennis after a layoff, then you will want to attend one of our free monthly tennis sessions. Call the Front Desk or ask your Clubs Tennis Director for the date of the next free class and then register for this session at the Front Desk. Equipment is provided. You will find adults like yourself who have decided to get outside to vary their exercise program.
Ball Machine
The best way to groove your strokes is to rent the ball machine. Our high quality machine is available whenever the Club is open. Call a Tennis Professional to schedule a “certification” and ask about our Ball Machine Club.
Racquetball and Handball
Most clubs have 4-8 racquetball courts, one with a glass back wall. The courts may be used for racquetball or handball. Courts may be reserved for 60 minutes by calling the Club up to three days in advance for reservation time. All players participating are considered to have a reservation.
Etiquette
Please wear non-marking soles on the courts. We ask that players wear shirts or exercise tops at all times. Please refrain from profanity for the comfort of our younger players. Tennis courts may be reserved by calling the front desk. A member may reserve a court up to three days in advance for one and a half hours. If you are not able to make your reservation, please call and cancel.
